Deirdre Lovejoy

Deirdre Lovejoy began her professional career doing Shakespeare in the Park under the direction of the legendary Joseph Papp. Broadway credits include Nora Ephron’s Lucky Guy starring Tom Hanks, directed by George C. Wolfe, as well as the original production of John Guare’s Six Degrees of Separation. Over a hundred productions, a few standouts being Macbeth (The Lady) at the Old Globe, Lil Bit in the original New York production of How I Learned to Drive, and Empty in Tony Kushner’s Intelligent Homosexuals Guide... at Berkely Rep.


On television Deirdre has played murderous moms, crooked cops, mourning mothers, crackerjack lawyers, and serial killers on shows such as The West Wing, NYPD Blue, The CloserThe Good Fight and dozens of others, but is probably best known as Rhonda Pearlman from the HBO critically acclaimed series The Wire. Deirdre has also played Cynthia Panabaker on the NBC hit series The Blacklist for eight seasons. Films include Steven Speiberg’s The Post, Step Up and the upcoming biopic Lilly. Continually developing her solo show “Bird, Elephant, China”, Deirdre is a proud member of The Actors Center, a graduate of the University of Evansville and New York University’s Graduate Acting Program.
