Delphi Harrington
Delphi Harrington is a classically trained actor , the Widow of Norman Harrington, Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Brooklyn College. She is tri-lingual. She has three grown Children, Spencer, Alexander and Persephone, and five Grandchildren. All of us reside in New York and Brooklyn.
Her most recent work has been on film and TV. Soon to be released DAREDEVIL, BORN AGAIN, (Marvel, Disney), KALEIDOSCOPE (Netflix), BLUE BLOODS, THE BLACKLIST and BULL. Earlier, HOUSE OF CARDS and LAW and ORDER.
Best known for SULLY, her work in film includes the lead in two short films, GOODNIGHT MOON and TO US, Other film credits are COOKIE, A LITTLE SEX, and NIGHT OF THE JUGGLER.
She was known as a Soap Star on GUIDING LIGHT, ALL MY CHILDREN, WHERE THE HEART IS and SWANS CROSSING. BREATHING LESSONS and A GOOD SPORT were Movies of the Week.
She starred on Broadway as Faye Medwick in CHAPTER ll. Other B’way credits include THE COUNTRY HOUSE, LES LIAISONS DANGEROUSES, THE SEA GULL, and Lady Capulet in ROMEO AND JULIET, at the Circle in the Square as well as Edward Albee’s EVERYTHING IN THE GARDEN.
On and Off B’way, On tour, and Regionally, she has been lucky enough to work with the late Edward Albee, playing ‘B’ in THREE TALL WOMEN in the original production, and opposite Marian Seldes in BECKETT ALBEE.
Arthur Miller was a mentor during AFTER THE FALL. Tom Stoppard was present and hilarious during ROSENCRANZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD.
She played “Mother” in the iconic EST Play THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER, Maria in UNCLE VANYA at the CSC. She won a Drama Guild nomination for her work as Madame Arcati in BLYTHE SPIRIT at the Pearl. Mrs. Rafi in THE SEA (TACT, Theatre Row) and Coward’s LONG ISLAND SOUND, round out the picture.
Regional: has been a Banquet Dottie in GOOD PEOPLE, TONIGHT AT 8:30 (Claire, Jean and Mabel,) at the John Drew, Easthampton; The Queen in CYMBELINE,(N.J. Shakes) ; Lady Brockhurst in THE BOY FRIEND (Bay St,) ; Mrs. Tarleton in MISSALIANCE (CT. Rep); Judith Bliss in HAY FEVER,(Playmakers) Lady Utterword in HEARTBREAK HOUSE ( the Guthrie and Yale); THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, Lady Bracknell; SOMETHING UNSPOKEN THREE BY TENNESSEE, Cornelia (Syracuse Stage); and joyfully, Desirée in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (Pioneer Theater).
Great Lakes: Desdemona in OTHELLO, Lady Percy in both HENRY’S, Audrey AS YOU LIKE IT, Portia in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, Helena in ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL; The Duchess of Gloucester in RICHARD ll.
CABARET: Delphi devised COWARDLY SWANN, which she performed with Woody Regan at the Metropolitan Room; She was introduced to New York audiences in the acclaimed PLAZA 9 revues at the Plaza Hotel.
