Rashaad Ernesto Green

After spending several years acting in regional and off-Broadway theater, New York native Rashaad Ernesto Green went behind the camera to tell stories.  Winner of the 2020 Film Independent Spirit’s Someone to Watch Award, Graduate of Dartmouth College, NYU Tisch Graduate Acting Program and NYU Tisch Graduate Film School, recipient of the Princess Grace Foundation Award and Spike Lee Fellowship, Rashaad's directing debut feature film, Gun Hill Road, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received nationwide theatrical distribution.  Rashaad’s second feature, Premature, nominated for the 2020 Film Independent Spirit’s John Cassavetes Award, premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, was distributed by IFC Films theatrically in February 2020 and is currently available on VOD.  In his work, Rashaad encourages people to have an active emotional experience by telling stories that are deeply rooted within the universal human experience.  Rashaad’s films have screened on Netflix, on HBO, and at festivals internationally.  His television credits include shows for Marvel, Netflix, Showtime, Hulu, NBC, Fox, Warner Bros, VH1 and BET.  He’s been supported by Cinereach, Sundance Institute Feature Film Program, Tribeca Film Institute, IFP, HBO, NBC, Time Warner, Warner Bros, Humanitas New Voices, NALIP and NHFA.  www.prematurefilm.com
