Written and performed by Heather Raffo, the film follows an Iraqi-American woman grieving her fatherโs death during the pandemic. The film streams at Peopleโs Light through February 20 ahead of its national release.
Companyย member Eva Kaminsky is inย A Bright New Boise by Samuel D. Hunter at Signature Theatre. This Obie-winning, dark comedic work depicts a Boise Hobby Lobby thrown into chaos by the arrival of a new employee. Directed by Oliver Butler, the show will run through March 12th.
Actor, teacher, and co-founder of The Moving Frame, Damian Young, returns to The Actors Center in February for two Zoom sessions devoted to Screenplay Analysis. Screenplays and Television scripts are blueprints for building visual stories. Do you often find yourself reading a film or tv scene and thinking โthereโs not much hereโ or, on set, asking yourself โwhy are they shooting it that way?โ Our ability to quickly and effectively analyze a scene prior to making specific acting choices ensures we are telling the same story as our collaborators. Damian will guide participants in how to more readily identify genre, story, tone, environment, and emotional stakes of a scene. He will share four distinct scenes from a variety of filmed material. Sessions run Monday and Tuesday, 7:00pm-9:00pm.
