Lou Liberatore plays Old Fart in Bruise & Thorn by C. Julian Jiménez, directed by Jesse Jou, and presented by Pipeline Theatre Company. Bruise and Thorn are Nuyorican, queer, and tired af of their jobs at a busted up laundromat in Jamaica, Queens. When the laundromat’s basement turns out to be an illegal cockfighting ring, the cousins can’t tell if this is an opportunity to cash out and become their most fabulous selves. Company member Edoardo Ballerini has been named among the finalists for this year’s Audie Awards, nominated for Best Male Narrator, and also nominated for his narration of Amor Towles’s The Lincoln Highway for Best in Fiction. Company members Heather Alicia Simms and Nicole Lewis are also among those nominated in the Best Multi-Voiced Performance category with Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain’s edited volume, Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America.

Company member, Mary Bacon, reprises the role of Patti in the musical Coal Country at the Cherry Lane Theatre through April 17. Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, with original music by country/folk legend Steve Earle, the critically acclaimed production’s initial run at The Public Theater was cut short in March 2020, and now receives an encore presentation with Audible Theater.

Paula Vogel, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and educator, and Jaclyn Backhaus, playwright, educator, and arts facilitator, join The Actors Center this March to lead writing workshops with members of our Resident Company.

Company member, Chris Perfetti, joins Glenn Davis in Rajiv Joseph’s new, fast-paced two-hander, King James with Steppenwolf Theatre Company, directed by Kenny Leon. “King” LeBron James’s reign in Cleveland brings promise, prosperity and renewal to a city in desperate need of all three. Company member, Megan Loomis, is now performing in the National Tour production of Wicked. Megan returned to the road last fall following the tour’s hiatus during Covid. The company is currently in Spokane, Washington and has long sit downs planned in the months ahead in Boston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Megan is in the ensemble playing the Midwife and understudying for Madam Morrible.

Company member, Wayne Duvall, is currently appearing in Season 6 of Showtime’s hit series Billions as Bud Lazara, one of the latest billionaires caught in the crosshairs of Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti), as the New York Attorney General takes the fight to the billionaire class. Company members Maggie Siff and Kelly AuCoin continue their roles in the series. Watch the trailer here.
