As his grandfather’s past resurfaces through fading memory, his grandmother resists the impending changes. The film delivers Nate’s view of their apartment turning into a living archive of care, conflict, and devotion. The cast also includes F. Murray Abraham. Bookends had its world premiere at Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 9 in Santa Barbara, CA.
Company member Annie Torsiglieri is in the short film Deus Ex Machina, written by Ashley Rose Clark and directed by Can Bermek Basoglu, screening at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in their 10-10-10 Program. Each year, SBIFF pairs 10 high school and 10 college students into screenwriter-director duos and with the help of professional filmmaking mentors, they work together to create 10 films that premiere at the festival. Deus Ex Machina will have its premiere on February 14 in Santa Barbara, CA.
