Company member Eva Kaminsky is in the feature film Song Sung Blue, written and directed by Craig Brewer and starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. Based on a true story, the film follows two down-on-their-luck musicians who form Lightning and Thunder, a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band. The Milwaukee husband and wife experience soaring success and devastating heartbreak in their musical journey together, proving it’s never too late to find love and follow your dreams. Company members Caroline Aaron and Antoinette LaVecchia are in the feature film 31 Candles, written and directed by Jonah Feingold. Set in New York City, the film follows 30-year-old Leo, a Christmas movie writer who never had his Bar Mitzvah. When he reconnects with Eva Shapiro— his childhood crush and now a Torah tutor—Leo decides it’s finally time to become a man. He navigates complicated situationships, reconnects with his divorced parents, and faces his own immaturity—all while planning the most belated Bar Mitzvah imaginable. Company member Nancy Lemenager is in At Home at the Zoo, written by Edward Albee and directed by Theo Devaney, produced by Ruth Stage at Jersey Shore Arts Center. As marriage becomes a battlefield and civility dissolves under the weight of buried truth, the Ruth Stage company goes even further into the darkness—presenting a marriage on the edge of implosion and a world where love and cruelty are indistinguishable. In the intimate confines of the Jersey Shore Arts Center, audiences will be placed uncomfortably close to the blast radius. Performances run January 15-17 in Ocean Grove, NJ.
Company members James Chen and Jo Mei are in the feature film Rosemead, directed by Eric Lin and starring Lucy Liu. Based on a true story, Rosemead centers on an ailing Chinese-American woman who uncovers a terrifying secret: her teenage son is consumed by violent impulses. As her health rapidly declines, she’s forced into a desperate struggle—how far will she go to stop what she fears he is becoming, and what is she willing to sacrifice to protect him? The film, which had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival in June and has won multiple awards on the festival circuit, is now screening in select theaters. Watch trailer here.
Company member Chris Perfetti received an Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Jacob Hill on the critically acclaimed ABC comedy Abbott Elementary. Created by and starring Quinta Brunson, the series also received a Critics Choice nomination for Best Comedy Series and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Comedy/Musical Series for the third year running.
Additionally, company member Kristin Villanueva is part of the ensemble cast for The Pitt from creator R. Scott Gemmill, which received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Drama Series and a Critics Choice Nomination for Best Drama Series. The 31st Critics Choice Awards will be presented January 4, 2026 on E! and USA Network, and the 83rd Golden Globes will be presented January 11, 2026 on CBS.
Company members Patrice Johnson Chevannes and Heather Alicia Simms curated the inaugural Caribbean Theatre Festival in collaboration with the Billie Holiday Theatre as part of the bi-annual “Black Narrative” theater series. The evening was a vibrant celebration honoring the powerful legacy and ongoing impact of Caribbean theatrical roots and rising voices in the American theater canon and featured staged readings, play excerpts and monologues from Caribbean playwrights, including company member Stacey Sargeant’s Buh Wha’ Trouble Is Dis?, and Patrice Johnson Chevannes’ Jamancipendence Day.
