Beth McGuire, voice and dialect coach and former Yale faculty member, and Fay Simpson, founder of the Lucid Body, intimacy coordinator, and Head of Movement at NYU Grad Acting, will join The Actors Centerโs Resident Company this fall for development workshops exploring dialects and high-stakes scene work.

Chatty, bawdy, flawed and deeply honest, Boswellโs 18th-century journals of his grand journey through Scotland with Johnson take Joan back in time, showing her the power of authenticity and the need to make her own place in the world. Company member Ato Blankson-Wood is the recipient of The Vineyard Theatre’s 2025-2026 Colman Domingo Award. Seeded in 2019 from the longtime collaboration between The Vineyard and Domingo, the Colman Domingo Award is bestowed annually to a multi-faceted Black male-identifying theatre artist to provide support and resources to create new work. Recipients are selected directly by The Vineyard and Mr. Domingo and receive a cash stipend, workshops and other developmental opportunities, access to writing and studio space, mentorship, and the ongoing support of The Vineyard. Other Emerging Artist honorees include Ro Reddick, recipient of the Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, and Keenan Tyler Oliphant, recipient of the the Susan Stroman Direction Award. The recipients will be honored in a ceremony at The Strand’s Rare Books Room on December 8.

The Quinns and DeLucas have lived side-by-side near Highmark Stadium for decadesโhome of their beloved Buffalo Bills. While pediatric doctor Morgan Quinn and Bills exec Gabe DeLuca have been lifelong friends, his feelings for her are an open secret. Company member Heather Alicia Simms has been named a co-chair of the judges’ committee for The American Theatre Wing’s 70th Annual Obie Awards, the theater industryโsย premier award celebrating the best of Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway.ย Heather will serve in this role alongside Obie winning director Taylor Reynolds. Joining them to round out theย committee of judges are Jonathan McCrory, Jackie Sibblies Drury, Arnulfo Maldonado, Ann C. James, Meiyin Wang, Justin Ellington, Jeanette Yew, and Melissa Rose Bernardo.ย The date for the official announcement of the 70th Obie Award winners will be released later this year.
