Company member Denise Cormier is in Oedipus on Broadway, created and directed by Robert Icke—after Sophocles—and starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville. Oedipus is the story of a cocksure king who fails to believe a prophesy about his actual origin story: he killed his father and, unawares, took his mother as his wife. His great hubris prevents him from seeing the truth, only to have devastating consequences when he finally accepts his fate. Retold for today, this revival sets the story in the present on election night as Oedipus sees himself as a sure winner. However, news will break and the tides will turn. Sophocles’ epic tragedy is transformed into an explosive political thriller, reimagining Ancient Greek mythology to bring the secrets of the past bursting into the present. Performances run at Studio 54 through February 8, 2026.

The biopic stars Sydney Sweeney as boxing star Christy Martin and chronicles her rise to becoming America’s most well known female boxer in the 1990s. Company member Ben Beckley is in The Seat of Our Pants—a new musical adaptation of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Skin of Our Teeth—with music and lyrics by Ethan Lipton, choreography by Sunny Min-Sook Hitt, and directed by Leigh Silverman, at The Public Theater. This musical about age-old problems tells the twisting, often absurd story of the Antrobus family, who have been alive for 5,000 years but live in the same existential dread as the rest of us. Mired in the hot mess of their everyday worries, the Antrobuses survive all manner of catastrophes in an endless quest to begin again, and again, and again. This bracingly original spectacle is a musical reminder that surviving is what we do best. Performances run through November 30.
