Company members Louisa Jacobson and Celia Keenan-Bolger will reprise their roles in Season 3 of the HBO drama The Gilded Age. From creator and writer Julian Fellowes, the period drama centers on two families—one old money and one new money—as they navigate New York society at a significant turn of the century for which the show is named. In the new season, ambition and scandal collide as the Russell family takes their place at the head of society, while the van Rhijn household is thrown into chaos. Company member Jo Mei is one of the newest members of Project YZ, Yangtze Repertory Theatre’s Artist Residency program, which aims to support and build an artistic home for AAPI immigrant artists. The 2025 cohort of recipients will receive grant funding to support their development for one year. During the residency, Yangtze Rep will connect resident artists with other collaborators, offer research support, and facilitate interviews and focus groups. Dramaturgical development and discussion with Yangtze’s artistic staff will take place throughout the residency. Yangtze Repertory Theatre produces work by, for, and about the AAPI community and the Chinese diaspora, positioning itself at the nexus of ideas from East and West.

Company members Lenne Klingaman and Nancy Lemenager are the world premiere of Billie Jean, an electrifying new play about Billie Jean King, written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Marc Bruni at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Following her path to becoming a sports icon, from her record-breaking victories to her relentless fight for equal pay and equal rights, Billie Jean explores the cost of public battles and private struggles—bringing us closer than ever before to a woman whose battle for identity and equality inspired and continues to inspire generations. Performances run through August 10.

Company member Joe Holt is in the new limited series Untamed from writers and creators Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith and starring Eric Bana, Sam Neill, and Rosemarie DeWitt, now available to stream on Netflix. A woman’s death draws an Investigative Services Branch agent of the National Parks Service into lawless terrain as he hunts for the killer—one who knows the vast expanse Yosemite National Park as well as he does. Company member Kathy McCafferty is in the world premiere of Sacco and Vanzetti’s Divine Comedy, written by Kevin Rice and directed by Tim Habeger at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater in Wellfleet, MA. One of the most controversial trials of the 20th century, the trial and conviction of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti during the United States’ first Red Scare led to public protests around the world. In this new dark comedy, the sensationalized trial is served up over three meals featuring a unique Italian recipe seasoned with equal portions of wit, anarchy, slapstick comedy, immigration and capital(ist) punishment. Performances run through July 26.

Company member Julian Elijah Martinez is in the world premiere of Magdalene, written by Mark St. Germain and directed by Elena Araoz at the Contemporary American Theater Festival. Eighteen years after the crucifixion, Peter reconnects with the banished Mary Magdalene. After casting her out, he now seeks her advice and counsel. Questions erupt as they recall different versions of Jesus, his miracles, and his vision for the faith. Whose memories are closest to the truth? Whose secrets are revealed? Whose stories will stand the test of time? Performances run through August 3 in Shepherdstown, WV.

Company member Liza Fernandez is in Side Effects May Include… written by Lisa Loomer and directed by Meredith McDonough at the Contemporary American Theater Festival. What happens when the trust we place in our medical system actually makes us sicker? After a series of diagnoses, a mother leads us through her son’s search for wellness, a Kafkaesque journey through the world of psychiatry. Written with humor and fury, the story explores the side effects of fighting through illness with the ones we love. Performances run through August 3 in Shepherdstown, WV.

Company members Maggie Bofill, Julyana Soelistyo, and Cindy Cheung are part of New York Stage and Film’s 40th Summer Season at Marist University.

Company member Maggie Bofill was in Vidas Privadas, inspired by Private Lives by Noël Coward, written by Christina Pumariega, and directed by Eddie Torres. Coward wrote it, but Cubans explode it—rocketing from old world to the new, from the ballot box to the bedroom in a no-holds barred immigrant debate that’s smart, sexy, and uproarious.

Company member Julyana Soelistyo is in Manakin, written by Dave Harris and directed by Taylor Reynolds. Manakin is a raw, lyrical, darkly hilarious piece about intergenerational trauma, love in all its forms, ancient traditions and sacred rituals.

Company member Cindy Cheung is in The Pushover, written and directed by John Patrick Shanley. The Pushover is a play about three badass women who collide and collude at a spa in New Mexico, and a barebones Chinese restaurant in Queens. They speak the language of the outcast, rough and sexual, and fight to survive, and to love.

Company member Sarah Baskin will perform in A Poem and a Mistake, written by Cheri Magid, directed by Michelle Bossy, and presented by Making Strange in association with Fringe Management at Edinburgh Fringe. A grad student’s confrontation with her professor over the fifty sexual assaults in Ovid’s Metamorphoses sparks a magical yet terrifying transformation shattering both their ideas of gender, sexuality and desire. Through seventeen characters and 120 transformations, this show cuts to the duality in all of us: aggressor and victim, teacher and student, god and mortal. Performances run July 31-August 24 in Edinburgh.
