Orlando Pabotoy, interdisciplinary artist, director, and educator, and Ken Barnett, actor, teacher, and company member, will join The Actors Center’s Resident Company this fall for development workshops exploring stilt walking and Dreamwork.
Orlando Pabotoy is an Obie Award-winning multidisciplinary theatre artist. His role as a choreographer and movement designer has been showcased in productions of Henry VI (National Asian American Theatre Company), The Cherry Orchard (Classic Stage Company by Andrei Belgrader), and Marisol (Trinity Rep), among others. He is the winner of the 2023 Callaway award for Choreography in The Half God of Rainfall at New York Theatre Workshop. He has also directed a physical approach to Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins at PlayMakers Repertory Company, and his contributions to the world of new productions extend to writing and performing in Sesar (commissioned by the Ma-Yi Theater Company) and writing and directing That Beautiful Laugh (La MaMa’s 50th year anniversary).
He is a founding member of the Campfire Project, where he leads an innovative approach to arts therapy through the arts of stilt walking in order to support the resilience and wellbeing of refugees and asylum seekers worldwide. He is currently on faculty at the Juilliard School and has taught for graduate programs nationwide, as well as at The Actors Center, the Public Theater’s Summer Lab, and internationally in Italy, the Philippines, Amsterdam, and Abu-Dhabi.

Ken is an actor, director, acting coach, and teacher of Dreamwork for Artists. He studied and trained extensively under his mentor, Kim Gillingham, in Los Angeles, and he has furthered his study of Dreamwork with the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association of New York, the C.G. Jung Foundation, and Pacifica Graduate Institute. Ken has been coaching privately and teaching workshops in New York and Los Angeles for over a decade. He has worked with actors, writers, and artists of various disciplines who are interested in exploring the unconscious. Ken has been honored to lead workshops at training programs and retreat centers such as The Actors Center, The National Alliance of Acting Teachers, New York Stage & Film’s Powerhouse Summer Training Program, and Space on Ryder Farm.
As an actor, Ken has worked professionally for over twenty-five years. His Broadway credits include Fun Home (dir. Sam Gold), Wonderful Town (dir. Kathleen Marshall), and The Green Bird (dir. Julie Taymor). He has originated roles at the Public, Playwrights Horizons, Rattlestick, the Vineyard, and HERE, and worked regionally at the Geffen Playhouse, Hartford Stage, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Old Globe, Mark Taper Forum, and the Guthrie, among others. His TV and film work includes the award-winning short film, Lavender, and roles on Mad Men, Mozart in the Jungle, House of Cards, High Maintenance, The Good Fight, Godfather of Harlem, American Crime Story, The Knick, and Grey’s Anatomy, among others.
