Charles Browning
Charles Browning is a stage and screen actor whose career spans Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, and film/television. On Broadway, he has appeared in The Piano Lesson and How I Learned to Drive. Off-Broadway credits include the 2019 Pulitzer Prize-winning Fairview (Soho Rep, Theatre for a New Audience, Berkeley Rep). His performance work in Fairview earned him a 2019 Drama Desk Award nomination. Additional Off-Broadway credits include Classical Theatre of Harlem, Rattlestick Theater (In the Southern Breeze), Classic Stage Company (The Misanthrope), and Gallery Players.
Regionally, Charles has performed at La Jolla Playhouse (Here There Are Blueberries โ 2024 Pulitzer Prize Finalist), Virginia Stage Company, Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre, Goodman Theatre, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater (King Lear).
On screen, Charles appears in the feature film Atrabilious (Prime) and Huluโs Monsterland. He holds a BFA from DePaul University, an MFA from Columbia University, and has trained at the British American Drama Academy (Oxford).
