Joe Holt

Joe Holt

Military kid by birth, New Yorker by trade, Joe Holt has carved out an impressive resume since arriving in New York in 1993 with nothing but a dream and a work ethic. Recently seen as Series Regular Dr. Leo Bennett on The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Holt has spent the last three years recurring on Bel-Air, Delilah on OWN, and All-American: Homecoming.

A working actor for over 20 years, Holt has also recurred on The Punisher, and had Guest Starring roles on FBI:International, The Good Wife, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Station 19 (bless you Shonda), Supernatural, and all 4 Law and Order franchises (a true feather in his New York cap.)

Holt takes great pride in his craft and, when not working in film and television, is always looking to hone his skills with theatre. A frequent collaborator with The Antaeus Classical Theatre, Holt has studied with Steppenwolf West, The Labyrinth Theatre, and Wynn Handman among others. Favorite theatre roles include Sam in “Blues For An Alabama Sky” at The Mark Forum Taper collaborating with Phylicia Rashad, Hotspur in “Henry IV, Pt. 1” at Antaeus Theatre in Los Angeles, Christopher in “Blue Orange” at Hartford TheatreWorks, and Actor 4 in “We Are Proud To Present…” at The Matrix in Los Angeles by Jackie Sibblies Drury directed by Jillian Armenante.

Holt has also spent the past 7 years as an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Stonestreet Studio, where he teaches a variety of film and television-specific classes ranging from Directing The Actor, to Auditioning For The Camera, as well as directing a number of Micro-movies.

He recently completed filming on two features (“Albany Road” directed by Christine Swanson and “The Greatest Ever” by Steve Grimaldi), and is looking forward to the next chapter in this bizarre and beautiful book called life.
