Rashaad Ernesto Green
After spending several years acting in regional and off-Broadway theater, New York native Rashaad Ernesto Green went behind the camera to tell stories. Graduate of Dartmouth College, NYU Tisch Graduate Acting Program and NYU Tisch Graduate Film School, recipient of the Princess Grace Foundation Award and Spike Lee Fellowship, Rashaad's directing debut feature film, Gun Hill Road, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received nationwide theatrical distribution. Named in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film and indieWIRE's Ten New Voices in Cinema, Rashaad’s films have screened on Netflix, HBO and festivals internationally. He’s been supported by Cinereach, Sundance Feature Film Institute, Tribeca Film Institute, IFP, HBO, NBC, Time Warner and Warner Bros. Rashaad has directed episodes of Luke Cage for Marvel/Netflix, Vida for Starz, NBC’s Grimm, Warner Bros/CW’s Supernatural and Vampire Diaries, VH1’sThe Breaks, BET’s Being Mary Jane and The Quad. Rashaad is currently in production of his sophomore feature film entitled Premature.
