Company Workshop Season Opening Workshop Yuval Boim: Lecoq Sunday Workshop Dates & Times Sunday, September 13, 2026 – 1pm-5pm Amanda Selwyn Dance Studio, 412 Broadway, 2nd Floor About the Workshop Actor, writer, and Princeton University faculty member Yuval Boim kicks off the 2026-27 season with a one-day workshop on the physical building blocks of dramatic action. At the core of the Lecoq pedagogy is a family of movements that promote mobility, strength, coordination, and concentration, and that offer a direct pathway to the performer's imagination and internal life. Yuval will guide participants in exploring these biomechanical progressions simply for the joy of moving the body, analyzing them for the material they contain, and discovering how to tap their poetic potential in service of shaping dramatic moments. The work consolidates a deep corporeal understanding of how drama is built, and gives actors practical tools while working on a story. The workshop runs 1pm-5pm. About Yuval Boim Yuval trained at Boston University and at the London International School of Performing Arts under Thomas Prattki, former pedagogical head of the École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq. He developed and taught the first-year movement curriculum at Pace University for ten years and works regularly with Movement Theatre Studio in New York. A Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, he has studied at the Iyengar Institute in New York and India since 2007. His acting credits include The Plot Against America, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order: SVU on screen, and Primary Stages, the Public Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, and Shakespeare Theatre Company on stage. His feature screenplay D.I.Y. was optioned by Patrick Somerville (Station Eleven) and received a grant from the Duplass Brothers. He is a company member of The Actors Center.
